Sir Terry Pratchett was born in 1948 and he published The Colour of Magic in 1983. He continued publishing, with on average two books a year until his death. His last novel was published five months after his death in March 2015. He was diagnosed with Alzheimers in 2007 and continued writing until his death. 

Sir Terry was, in the opinion of the authors of this blog, a literary genius. His ability to world-build was on a level with Tolkien, his characters were infinitely thrilling, and the story lines endlessly unique. His range covers sorcery and politics, the mundane and the mystical. Often, he writes political commentary so well disguised in satire that you do not even realise how sharp it is until it cuts you, and its always so funny that you don't even care. This year we both have sworn to read all the Discworld books in order, and so without further ado, the reading list:
